APB Developer in Administration
Sad news to report this morning with what seems like the impending demise of Scottish studio Realtime Worlds - the developer of the crime based MMO All Points Bulletin.
Realtime Worlds has entered administration with the result being the loss of 170 staff, with 50 staying behind to try to save APB and thus the studio itself.
APB has been give years in the making, however the game's recent launch has seen underwhelming demand, with the banks of servers being vastly underpopulated.
This is a sad end for the company that brought us the brilliant Crackdown on Xbox 360.
Perhaps in hindsight though the GTA-style game and the MMO are just too far apart in appeal to make a successful online game from the marrying of the genres.
