EA Boss: We Lost Fans with Dragon Age II

Dragon Age II has both its plaudits and critics. While most reviewers found a lacklustre, but solid sequel, many fans were left seething with a game they felt was rushed and a step in the wrong direction.

In a surprising move EA exec Frank Gibeau says he understand why some fans have criticised the sequel and that the publisher is listening to these comments.

Dragon Age 3 Outed Via Twitter

Bioware have announced that it is looking for a 3D artist to work on Dragon Age 3. Not exactly the flashiest way to announce a game, but there it is.

Alistair McNally (Bioware's senior director of creative development) tweeted: "I'm looking for exceptional environment artists to join me at #BioWare Edmonton, Canada to work on #DragonAge3 #gamejobs #jobs #3D #artists."

Here's hoping this new artist fixes the dull repetitive environments we had to deal with in Dragon Age 2 which itself was a disappointing sequel to Dragon Age: Origins.

Final Mass Effect 2 DLC Announced

Electronic Arts has announced that the final piece of downloadable content for Mass Effect 2 will be released on March 29th.

Mass Effect: Arrival will see Shepard and his crew up against the Reapers and will included three new achievements for X360/PC and trophies for PS3. The content marks the return of Admiral Hackett played by sci-veteran actor Lance Henriksen.

"All year, we have been extremely honored and humbled by the reception we have received for Mass Effect 2 from players around the world, including our post release DLC," said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer, Mass Effect series. "Mass Effect: Arrival is an exciting extension to Mass Effect 2 and will show players just how close the Reapers are to returning and completing their deadly harvest."

The DLC will cost 560 Microsoft Points on X360, 560 BioWare Points for PC and £5.49 on PS3.

Mass Effect 2 via PSN - How Fuckin' Much?

Excuse the language, but what in Jebus' name is going on here? Yes you can now download Mass Effect 2 for PlayStation 3 via PSN but it will cost you €60 in the Eurozone and £48 here in the UK.

Are EA/Sony barking mad? You can buy the game for less than a tenner for Xbox 360.

And even if you're mad enough to stump up nearly fifty quid for the game you're going to need 24GB free hard drive space, half for the download, half for the install. Given the awful speed of PSN downloads (ever rented a HD movie from there?) it would be quicker to buy the game from Amazon and wait for the postie to deliver it.

It must be the end times. That'll be why I saw toothless old hags fighting each other for reduced-to-clear green meat in Tesco this morning.
