Sega has released a demo of Creative Assembley's Total War: Shogun 2 via the Steam download service.

We’re very excited to announce that the demo for The Creative Assembly’s upcoming PC strategy game Total War: Shogun 2 is now available for download on Steam! You will experience a small taste of Total War's battles and Campaign game play in this demo, as you play through the Chosokabe tutorial campaign that introduces you to the feudal Japanese world of Total War: Shogun 2. Fight different types of land warfare with the tutorial battle stages and finally master the historic battle of Sekigahara, keeping in mind that all of this is just a small taste of the full Total War: Shogun 2 experience.

Electronic Arts has announced that a demo for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters will be released on PSN and Xbox Live on March 8th.

The demo will feature the famous 18th hole at the Agusta National course.

The Xbox 360 demo may already be out - but is there going to be any love for the original Crysis format?

Well yes. The official Twitter feed for the game has confirmed a PC demo is on the way.

"At this time, Crytek & EA are glad to confirm that we'll be releasing a pre-launch Crysis 2 multiplayer demo on PC! Stay tuned for details."

Still no PlayStation 3 demo though.

Activision has released a playable demo of Apache Air Assault on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

The download weighs in at around 800MB.

The demo features three missions - the first a training run, then two live fire missions. Set on realistic it's great fun - the FLIR gun camera is spookily like the footage we're used to seeing on the news. If you're a fan of 16bit era sims then this is something you really should download.

You can now download a playable demo of R.U.S.E, the interesting new realtime strategy game from Ubisoft.

EA Sports has released a playable demo for the hockey game NHL 11.

The demo is available now on the Xbox Live Marketplace and is a 1GB download.

You can queue it up from the Xbox Live Marketplace right here, meanwhile US PS3 owners will get the demo later today, with Europe getting it tomorrow on PS3.

Black Bean Games has sent word that the demo for motorcycle racer SBK X is now available to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox Live Silver players today.

The demo features a chance to try out the arcade and simulation modes on the Portimao Circuit. Differing weather conditions are featured and you can play with up to 15 opponents via online multiplayer.

Previously the demo had only been available to Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

The game is set for release on June 4th.

505 Games has announced that the demo for the American football game Backbreaker is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace for gold subscribers.

A PlayStation 3 demo is planned, but not yet dated.

Backbreaker itself will be released in the UK on June 25th.
