E3 Trailer: Star Wars The Old Republic

Check out the very tasty new Star Wars: The Old Republic after the break.

If only the Star Wars prequel movies were this cool.

I'm more looking forward to Guild Wars 2 :D

If this is as good as KOTOR the original we're all in for a treat.

I wish it was a game like KOTOR rather than an MMO.

    As do I. :(

I can't see this game being a major success though. Everyone running around being told they're "the one", everyone will be Jedi/Sith and from my experience on Star Wars Galaxy that formula just doesn't work.

    Here's hoping I'm wrong though.

Wasn't this game the main reason EA bought Bioware? They wanted to enter the MMO market I believe.

Bioware have a sterling track record but MMOs are just so repetitive and can never be as tight narratively. Wasn't there a single player action RPG that allowed you to invite people to your boss battles if they were playing the game too since the game was logged on and you could also leave messages to warn others of danger ahead?

Would agree with that "sterling track record" if it wasn't for DAII which I have just completed. It was so boring I thought about giving up so many times through it and is nothing more than a cash in.

Demon Souls is the game you're thinking of Alan.

I admit DAII wasn't as good as the first one but I still liked it. It was just a bit sterile. Didn't really have much to do with the first one either which is a shame.

I really wanted to like it, but just couldn't. I hated nearly everytihng about it. The combat, story, setting and even they main character annoyed me. Also, they reused everything. Act I, II and III just copy and paste jobs of characters, quests and locations. The ending was just insulting to players as well. It's not the worst game ever thought merely average.

DAII Rant over :>> (Needed to get that out of my system)

But, I'm off the beaten track here. I hope KOTOR online or The Old Republic is much better. I have my doubts, but we'll have to wait and see.

If they can create a great PvE experience that isn't repetitive then I'd be quite happy. I don't really like the PvP sections of MMOs.
