EA Boss: We Lost Fans with Dragon Age II

Dragon Age II has both its plaudits and critics. While most reviewers found a lacklustre, but solid sequel, many fans were left seething with a game they felt was rushed and a step in the wrong direction.
In a surprising move EA exec Frank Gibeau says he understand why some fans have criticised the sequel and that the publisher is listening to these comments.
...
Frank Gibeau (EA's Game Label boss) told Eurogamer that the series has lost some fans due to certain innovations introduced in Dragon Age II.
"We were clearly disappointed with some of the response from the fanbase, because we want them to be as excited about it as we are," EA Games Label boss Frank Gibeau told Eurogamer.
"We're very proud of the game. We tried to innovate and do some different things with the combat system and some of the way we told story. For some fans it worked well. In fact, we brought a lot of new fans into the Dragon Age franchise.
"But to be honest, we lost some fans as well. They were not pleased with some of the innovations and things we'd done. We understand that and we're listening."
Fans of the original should quickly diminish any thoughts of a return to the Origins style though. Anyone who visits the Bioware forum knows that when they aren't deleting every second thread that bashes Dragon Age II and the company they are quickly reassuring everyone that Dragon Age II is the way forward and most features will return in the third instalment.

So they are listening and then studiously ignoring the people who make them money. Silly.
