If you've played the Bulletstorm demo you'll know what a bloody yet cartoon-like experience it is. Yes the game is gory, but also silly and over the top.

However Epic Games shooter has had to suffer game-changing cuts to get a release in Germany. It seems that the German censor doesn't think its adult citizens could cope with blood, dismemberment or even ragdoll physics.

Given these things are a core part of the Bulletstorm experience one wonders what's actually left of the gameplay.

We expect importing of the uncensored version will be rife.

You can now download the single player demo of Epic Games' Bulletstorm from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

The download is 1GB.

A PlayStation 3 version of the demo is due today in North America, with a European release following tomorrow.

Epic Games has announced a playable Bulletstorm demo will be released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 towards the end of January.

The demo will hit the Xbox Live Marketplace in all regions on January 25th. PlayStation 3 owners will be able to grab the demo from PSN on the same day in North America. European PS3 owners will have to wait until January 26th.

Microsoft has delayed Gears of War 3 from spring 2011 until the autumn of next year.

Epic Games has been keen to point out this is not due to development issues, the decision was made by Microsoft for purely marketing reasons.

"I know fans are going to be disappointed with the new release date, but rest assured that this is a business decision between partners, and not a quality issue," said executive producer Rod Fergusson. "Gears 3 was on track to be the most polished Gears of War game ever when it released in April, and this additional time allows us to polish it that much more before it hits shelves next fall."

Microsoft this is what you get when you have way too few flagship first-party exclusives lined up for your console.
