Gran Turismo 5 Tops UK Chart

Polyphony Digital's unfinished symphony - Gran Turismo 5 - has entered the UK charts at number one this week.

I expect Call of Duty: Black Ops will be back on top next week.

    Of course I expect it to. It's my knowledge of games retail, not how good the games are by comparison. Platform exclusives tend to have great launch weeks but struggle up against multi-format releases. CoD - which is available on multiple formats is much more likely to top the chart between now and Christmas.

    Racers just don't sell as well as shooters these days unfortunately.

    I'd much rather folks went out and bought Apache Air Assault on PS3/X360 - but you can lead a horse to water...

    Edit: And yes games really have gone downhill, it's become a very dull shooter-led market these days. Gone is the diversity of ten years ago.
