Battelfield Producer Joins Paradox

Paradox Interactive has announced today that former DICE Battlefield producer Gordon Van Dyke has joined the company as a Senior Producer. The publisher says that Van Dyke will be charged with leading the production of the online titles and developing new IP.

“Gordon brings a great amount of experience from working on the Battlefield series and Visceral. We are thrilled to welcome him to Paradox. Over the past couple of years we have been one of the fastest growing companies in the industry and Gordon will play a key role in our continued growth,” said Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive.

“I’m very excited to join the production team here at Paradox. Some really fortunate events led me to this amazing opportunity to work on projects that really speak to my inner gamer. I know it’s going to be an incredible journey and can’t wait to start right away on inspiring projects like Salem, Gettysburg: Armored Warfare, and Project Postman,” Gordon Van Dyke commented.

Paradox Joins Japan Earthquake Relief Program

Paradox Interactive has just emailed to say the company has joined the Japan Earthquake & Tsunami Relief Program via Direct2Drive.

I just want to let you know that Paradox Interactive is supporting the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Program on Direct2Drive.

All Paradox Interactive games are included in the charity campaign with Direct2Drive donating $1 for every game sold between 18th and 21st March.

Paradox will match Direct2Drive’s $1 per game donation,
meaning $2 for every game sold will be given to victims of the Japanese catastrophe via the Red Cross.

Enormous relief efforts will be required to help Japan recover and rebuild and we are happy for this opportunity to contribute.

Cities In Motion Patch in Development

I was going to post a review of Paradox Interactive's entertaining transport game Cities In Motion this week, but am going to hang-fire until the release of the new patch in development.

Check out the changelog:

- Traffic jams
This has been the most addressed issue in Cities in Motion. In the new patch the amount of private cars depends on the difficulty, making the easy level less likely to have so many traffic jams. The jammed cars also disappear more quickly. And in the sandbox you can even customize the amount of the private cars to your liking.

- Economy
We realized that the fluctuating economy is a bit too sudden, so we slowed the fluctuation down a bit.

- Press "U"
We added a shortcut to get to the underground view (nobody admits forgetting it in the first place..)

In addition to these we worked on the bugs we had left. I hope this resolves the issues you have been having with Cities in Motion. Please let us know if you agree!

The patch 1.1.12 is available soon
