Shift 2 DLC Coming to PC for Free
Jun 27th

Electronic Arts has announced that the Legends and Speedhunters DLC packages - already available on consoles - will be released for the PC version of Shift 2 Unleashed on June 30th.
The publisher says that unlike the console versions the content will be released free of charge and will be available for download at Origin.com.
One hopes that this doesn't mean the content is for Origin users only and that those playing a boxed retail or Steam version can join the fun.
The Legends content is particularly brilliant as it features old versions of tracks such as Monza and Hockenheim along with classic older cars.

Rockstar Games has just announced that a version of LA Noire will be released for PC this autumn.
Rockstar Leeds is handling the conversion and we're promised improved graphics over the console versions and 3D support.

May 19th

Peter Molyneux is well known for speaking his mind, but today a different developer at Lionhead Studio's has decided to say a few choice words to those that criticised Fable III. Lead combat designer Mike West believes Fable III is the series best game and can't understand why it has received so little praise upon release.
"Every time you finish playing Fable you'll have a smile on your face. Every time you play Oblivion you'll say 'I enjoyed my time there but now I want to go play something fun'. [Fable III is] a different type of game: it's more of a fun, comedic TV show than a serious Lord of the Rings film. I think a lot of people that play it think it's a Lord of the Rings - and it isn't."
One of his main gripes was the criticism of the game's story. "People saying the story wasn't very good was unfair. It's an interesting situation of you gather people together and then defeating the main bad guy. It's a pretty good story and it's pretty fun," he said.
Even the lack of recognition for voice acting has his knickers in a twist. "I'm slightly disappointed we haven't won any audio awards to be honest, because our music's great, our vocal talent's great - and then you'll see a standard shooter get an audio award. I just think that's because they're more popular than us."
So there you go. It's all your fault for not enjoying Fable III. We all should be ashamed of ourselves. I'm going to crawl back into bed with a bottle of amaretto and think about what I've done.

Full story »Portal 2 Delayed
Nov 19th

The worst has happened, people: February 9th will no longer be the day you get your hands on a copy of Portal 2.
Developer Valve has pushed back the highly anticipated sequel to April 22, but offers a few words of condolence.
“This two month slip not only marks the shortest delay in Valve's proud tradition of delays, it represents the approaching convergence of Valve Time and Real Time. Though this convergence spells doom for humanity, it will not affect the new Portal 2 release date.”
Comforting, I'm sure you'll agree. While you wait though, why not check out some footage?
Portal 2 is in development for PS3, 360 and PS3.
New Deus Ex: HR Trailer
Nov 18th

Square Enix has released another trailer for its upcoming stealth/FPS/RPG/Kitchen Sink game, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and it's dealing in shades of bad-assery we weren't even aware existed.
The trailer demonstrates some of the weapons and abilities available to the player, including invisibility, explosive bullets and a superb looking rifle that can see and shoot through solid objects. It's truly unmissable.
Expect the game early next year for PC, PS3 and 360, but expect the video after the break.

Today's UK Retail Videogames Releases
Nov 12th

There are slim pickings to be had in your local videogame emporium today. That's thanks to the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops and Kinect earlier in the week. Obviously no publisher wants to put up a AAA release against those titles.
So what do we have in store today?

The brains behind The Star Trek Encyclopedia, Mike and Denise Okuda, are also on board to ensure it's strictly in line with the universe.
