I know what you're thinking - "Harry you've done bugger-all work today while Adam has been the only one posting on the site."

Partly true folks, but only partly.

I spent much of the day travelling to and from Electronic Arts HQ. I went along to chat to Producer Nick Channon and play NBA Elite 11. The new game is mighty impressive and I'll tell you all about it later this week.

But for now it's time to open a cold one.

I just wanted to draw your attention to the comments system here at Boomtown X.

Due to the high spam level that occurs when commenting is completely open we currently have the site set to only allow comments from registered users.

However that's the only stipulation. To register just hit the "login" option in the top menu and you'll see a link there to register.

Remember to use a real email address. You have to be able to validate your account - via an email sent from the site - before you can comment.

Thanks too for the avalanche of news you've sent our way. Initial posting is set to begin over the weekend then it's full steam ahead on Monday.

Exciting isn't it?

So here it is. The launch - or at least the semi-launch of my new gaming website.

Following the bankruptcy of Boomtown.net and likelihood that the site I was fortunate enough to be editor for for over six years not returning - I thought it was time to stretch out on my own.

Obviously the new name features a little joke. But given my long association with the name Boomtown something similar really seemed quite appropriate.

The site isn't going to fully launch until next week. But that gives you a chance to delight in what will be - in spirit at least - the second coming of Boomtown - albeit this time with a website that isn't broken and badly managed by its owner.

And after all, if you want a job doing properly, then do it yourself.

Thanks for your patience. And thanks too for the many emails I've received. To answer one of the much asked questions - no I don't think Boomtown.net will be coming back. I've done all I can - but you can only go so long banging your head against a brick wall of incompetent new management.

So onwards and upwards. Over the next week expect to see the new second life for Grumpygamer, I'll be making a full announcement in the next few days. Safe to say it's time to become the master of my own destiny and strike out on my own.
