Having already defeated the PS3 Jailbreak piracy device in the Australian courts Sony has now set out to defeat the exploit from the PlayStation 3 console itself.

Today the company launched a mandatory update to the PlayStation 3 firmware. You'll need to download and install version 3.43 if you want to use PSN.

Sony hasn't confirmed that 3.43 was released to combat PS3 Jailbreak, but said that it resolves a "hardware security issue."
