Steam Borks F1 2010 Release
Someone at Valve has had a monumental case of the stupids that means that UK gamers who pre-ordered Codemasters F1 2010 still cannot play the game.
For such users the game still has the status of "pre-load" in the Steam client rather than "Play".
The game should have unlocked at midnight.
As you can see the Steam community forum is understandably annoyed.
Update: One suggested workaround I've seen in various F1 2010 community postings is to connect via a VPN in the US. Steam will then unlock the game you've paid for. Sorted.

It also relocks the game when you connect back using a non VPN connection

True Jimmy.
However once you've unlocked the game via a VPN you can just run Steam in offline mode and play it. This works a treat.
