I remain somewhat sceptical regarding Gran Turismo 5. I used to be a huge fan of the franchise - heck I bought a Japanese copy of the original game, modded my PlayStation to play it and bought a new TV to be able to cope with the NTSC output.

But lack of real innovation in the franchise - no damage, lack of anything that really could be described as racing, and a focus on car visuals over the tracks themselves meant by the time of the fourth game I'd had enough.

However I'm hoping that the fifth iteration rekindles my love. We shall see. Anyway, after the jump there are three pieces of footage from Gamescom taken by the folks at Gamesyde; including footage of the Top Gear test track and the karting mode.
